In a Sudanese cultural evening, hundreds of members of the Sudanese community in Cairo gathered in Sudanese folk costume at the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, to experience a beautiful Sudanese night organized by the Sudanese Creativity Salon, characterized by the joy of the Sudanese gathering, which came under the title “Our Unity in Our Diversity”, in which the participants expressed their love and passion for the homeland and the dream of returning after the end of the war.
Joy was mixed with tears while chanting Sudanese national songs. The celebration began with a reception with the presentation of sweets and coffee in the Sudanese way, while the Tchaikovsky Theater was filled with hundreds of members of the Sudanese community. The celebration was managed by the distinguished Sudanese media figure Yassin Saad.
The head of the Sudanese Creativity Salon, artist Ahmed Youssef Qarabin, went up to the stage to salute the Egyptian people and government for embracing the Sudanese community in light of the war crisis that the country is experiencing, stressing that Egypt is our second homeland. Qarabin also thanked the management of the Russian House for hosting the celebration and called for an end to the war and confronting the hate speech among the Sudanese and strengthening the call for unity and peace in Sudan.
Meanwhile, Murad Gattin, director of the Russian cultural centers in Egypt, welcomed the Sudanese community, praising the historical Russian-Sudanese relations and stressing the full readiness for cultural cooperation with the Sudanese Creativity Salon.
Artist Daf’a Al-Hajj and his musical band Camerata presented a collection of songs, folklore and Sudanese heritage
that expressed the diversity and richness of Sudanese culture, customs and traditions.
Then the great Sudanese poet Abdul Qader Al-Katibi recited a collection of his poems filled with longing and nostalgia for the homeland.
Then the great theater artist Sayed Abdullah Sosal presented an amazing theatrical tableau expressing the crisis of the human being who retreated before destructive ideas against the unity of the country.
The artist Waad Adel, in collaboration with the artist Al-Amin Khalaf Allah, presented a segment of national and popular songs from Sudanese folklore that moved the audience’s feelings.
The touching scene was when the Sudanese, Egyptians and Russians stood to share in the joy of solidarity and insistence on communicating with the homeland no matter how far the distances are. Joy was mixed with tears in a majestic scene.
For his part, Sherif Gad, Director of Cultural Activities at the Russian Center, indicated
that the celebration of the Sudanese community in Cairo was held in a picture of sophistication and intimacy, expressing the deep and diverse roots of Sudanese culture.
