During a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday morning, December 4, 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that China will provide $100 million in humanitarian aid to support Palestinians in Gaza.
President Xi emphasized that China and France will work together to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, highlighting China’s commitment to easing the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and supporting efforts for reconstruction and recovery.
The announcement comes at a time when Gaza continues to face severe devastation due to ongoing military operations, which have caused widespread destruction, deteriorating living conditions, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians.
China’s pledge forms part of expanding international efforts to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and contribute to rebuilding the war-torn enclave. Macron’s visit to China marks his fourth state visit and follows Xi’s state visit to France last year, commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
