The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, participated in Cairo Fashion Tex Exhibition, which is held in Cairo at the Conference Center in Misr City from October 3 to 5, 2024.
Cairo Fashion Tex Exhibition is one of the largest fashion and ready-made clothing exhibitions held in Egypt every year. 11 Turkish companies working in the fields of fabric, threads, cotton and ready-made clothing manufacturing participate in this exhibition.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Cairo, Salih Mutlu Şen, participated for the second time in this exhibition this year and visited the participating companies and organizers. He also gave a speech in the Business to Business (B2B) session.
During his speech, Ambassador Şen thanked the companies organizing the exhibition and explained that the ready-made clothing sector has witnessed great potential for cooperation between Egypt and Turkey in the fields of trade, technology, industry and investments. These potentials have begun to be implemented. He also explained that the interest of Turkish companies towards Egypt is increasing day by day in trade, technology, machinery manufacturing and investments.
Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen visited the 11 Turkish companies participating in the exhibition and spoke with them all and consulted with them about their plans in the fields of trade, technology, industry and investment. Among these companies, there are 3 Turkish companies participating in the exhibition for the first time and they expressed their happiness to participate in the exhibition.
Ambassador Shen said that Turkey is one of the leading countries in the region and Europe in the field of clothing, explaining that considering the Egyptian market that continues to grow and the trade integration between Egypt and other countries in Europe, Africa, America and the Arab countries, there is huge potential for cooperation between Egypt and Turkey in the field of clothing. This cooperation is based on the principle of win-win and includes the fields of trade, technology and investments in addition to the workforce.
Ambassador Shen stated that Egypt now has a significant export capacity and at least a third of these exports are from Turkish companies present in Egypt and that the largest exporting companies are Turkish companies.
Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shen stated that he recently met with the Chairman of Sherbaty Company, which is the largest producer of jeans in Egypt and which produces in Egypt and Turkey, the Turkish Muhammad Sherbaty.
Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shen explained that the volume of trade, technology and investments between Egypt and Turkey in the field of ready-made clothing will continue to increase every year and that the prospects for cooperation are limitless, considering the volume of trade between Egypt and Turkey and cooperation in the field of ready-made clothing. He said that this cooperation provides employment opportunities in Egypt and export capacity, in addition to providing the possibility for Turkish companies to continue working in this sector through partnership with Egypt.
