In a bid to bolster bilateral relations and boost tourist exchanges between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Venezuelan Embassy in Cairo hosted a significant meeting that brought together Ambassador Wilmer Omar Barrientos and top executives from major Egyptian tourism companies.
The gathering was organized and coordinated by the embassy’s tourism and cultural advisor, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assal.
This encounter forms part of an ambitious tourism project aligned with the visions of both governments to increase the number of visitors traveling to and from Venezuela, while opening new avenues for collaboration in the tourism sector.
Attendees from the companies included Mohamed Abdel Aziz from New Egypt Tourism, Hani Mesbah from Arabian Islands Tourism, Ashraf Sayed from Royal Way Tours, Abdel Salam Hamed from UTS Tourism, Dina Khatab from Higher Travel, Mohamed Fayez from Mid Land, Karim Al-Menbawy from Amco Travel, Sheima Badawi from Sekhmet, Wafik Farag from Seven Reels Tourism, Hossam Hazza from Egyptian Travel Makers, Mohamed Badr from The Limit Travel, Yasser Hamida from Best Way Tourism, Hani Youssef Kamal from Planet Tours, Dr. Hossam Shelbaya, Ibrahim Hamed, Mostafa Ashaby from Maat Travel, Salah Atrees from Talento Travel, Ashraf Al-Masry from Tarchir Travel, and Yasser Mustafa from NGK Tourism.
The company leaders expressed their delight at this productive assembly, where they listened to the ambassador’s address and viewed captivating visual presentations specially prepared by the embassy to highlight Venezuela’s diverse tourism attractions.
Ambassador Wilmer Omar Barrientos stated, “Venezuela always welcomes visitors from all corners of the world, and we see Egypt as a strategic partner in enhancing tourism exchanges. This project represents a crucial step toward realizing our shared vision of increasing tourist numbers, and we are committed to providing all necessary support to ensure its success.”
He added, “Venezuela’s cultural and natural diversity offers a unique experience for Egyptian tourists, and we look forward to seeing more of our Egyptian brothers and sisters visit our country. Likewise, we welcome Venezuelan tourists to discover Egypt’s civilizational and historical treasures. We have listened with great interest to the valuable proposals put forward by the representatives of Egyptian tourism companies, and we will convey them to our government for consideration and activation to support this ambitious project.”
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assal extended his thanks to all participants, emphasizing the importance of discussing all the ideas presented.
Dr. Al-Assal pointed out that the project aims to achieve President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision of reaching 30 million tourists by 2030, in addition to supporting the Venezuelan government’s vision for increasing visitor numbers.
He expressed his joy at both countries celebrating 75 years of distinguished diplomatic relations, affirming that this historic relationship provides a solid foundation for building a prosperous tourism future between the two nations.
