The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has extended his warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Botswana on the occasion of their Independence Day.
The Chairperson emphasized that this day stands as a celebration of Botswana’s sovereignty, national pride, and the enduring aspirations of its people.
He noted that Botswana has played an active role in advancing the African Union’s core objectives, including peace, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development.
“Botswana continues to hold a pivotal role in both regional and continental affairs,” H.E. Youssouf stated.
“As a valued member of African institutions, Botswana has been instrumental in advancing our collective vision of ‘The Africa We Want,’ as articulated in Agenda 2063.”
The AUC Chairperson further reaffirmed the Union’s unwavering commitment to strengthening its partnership with Botswana, pledging support for the country’s journey toward greater political stability, democratic consolidation, and sustainable socio-economic development.
He concluded his message with: “Happy Independence Day to Botswana, with best wishes for continued progress and prosperity.”
