Sudanese Consul General in Aswan, Ambassador Abdel Qader Abdullah, has lauded Egypt’s ongoing support in addressing the fallout from the events in Sudan, highlighting the nation’s proactive stances—guided by directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi—in mitigating the war’s devastating impacts on the Sudanese people.

These remarks were made during an Egyptian-Sudanese media gathering hosted by the Sudanese Consulate in Aswan at its headquarters. The event was attended by Ambassador Abdel Qader Abdullah, along with representatives from various Egyptian and Sudanese media outlets and newspapers.

The Sudanese Consul expressed profound thanks and appreciation to President El-Sisi and Egypt’s political leadership for their warm reception of Sudanese nationals, rooted in the deep historical and brotherly ties that unite the peoples of the Nile Valley and their shared commonalities. He also extended gratitude to the residents and citizens of Aswan Governorate, as well as charitable organizations and both public and private institutions, for sheltering Sudanese individuals escaping the ravages of war and offering comprehensive support to Sudanese citizens.

Ambassador Abdullah described Egypt’s efforts as “an epic of generosity” toward the Sudanese people, noting their warm welcome from the outset, including the opening of border crossings between the two countries and the provision of essential facilities to ensure a dignified life for displaced families. He added, “The political leadership and the Egyptian people have never forsaken the Sudanese people during their current crisis, which affirms that we are one people in two countries.”
